The Official Matthew Thomas Website - Demonologie
A demonologie is a collection of the names and attributes of demons that you might find wandering around. It's used so that you can recognise them before they kill you, or maybe even in time to run away.

The demons featured in this demonologie are:

Alastor
Azantopeth
Beelzelbub
Bel-Astroth Slanesh
Boris
Brillocrank
Cone Imps
Five Riders of the Apocalypse
Guttlehog
Horace the Helpful
Julie
The Masticating Monks of Montpellier
Motorway Service Personnel
Rubicante
Scunthytiep
Sonylante
Srrggg-Dyrk
Trainee Demon Orville
Young Nick himself

Alastor (with rune sword Soul Stealer)
The Chief Executioner of Hell. "It was said he did things with cocktail sticks that would make Jack the Ripper nauseous." He is also First Architect of Daytime TV. He is "big even for a demon. His size was only accentuated by the billowing scarlet cloak...his only visible feature, a single oscillating eye."He carries the Rune-Sword Soul Stealer, who speaks with a high squeaky voice and thinks it's much more important than its master.

Azantopeth
Nether-Demon of Slanesh
Top

Beelzebub
Lord of the Flies, kit dispensing demon with the useful ability to materialize in a puff of green smoke.

Bel-Astroth Slanesh
Bel-Astroth Slanesh (BAS for short) is the Lord of the Worms. His full title is "High Lord of Wriggling Things You'd Rather Not Find Staring Up At You From Half An Apple", but "As it didn't trip off the tongue so nicely at cocktail parties he stuck to the shorter form."
Top

Boris
Boris is a Weapons Imp, which means that he can transform into any weapon you can think of. He's rather useful, really.
Top

Brillocrank
1st Lesser Reserve Demon of Kitchen Cleaning Accessories.
Top

Cone Imps
Irritating creatures who have parties in the middle of roads. They stir up trouble for non-demonic users of the motorway system.
Top

The Five Riders of the Apocalypse
Bernard (PLAGUE), Gary (PESTILENCE), Frank (FAMINE), Dave (WAR) and the junior partner Trevor (INCOME TAX). They have skull faces, wear hooded black cloaks and ride steeds that "spit green fire from every orifice".
Top

Guttlehog
Guttlehog (AKA Gutts) is "Junior Assistant High Demon (2nd Class), Lord of the Warthogs and Arch-fiend of Washing Machine Motors." He has the head of a warthog, an enormous fur collar and a scorpion tail ("a bugger in the shower"). His best friend - if demons can be said to have friends - is Rubicante.

Horace the Helpful
A Greater Swamp Fiend of Fehnris, now a disembodied head

Julie
A "Gatemaster for unholy Acheron"

The Masticating Monks of Montpellier
"The monks' modus operandi was feared and respected throughout the demonic world. To start with they would cook their target the best French meal on this or any other astral plane. When the unknowing victim sat down to feast the Monks would creep up behind them, take out their long metal spikes and stab the unfortunate individual repeatedly until the twitching eventually subsided." The Masticating Monks of Montpellier are among the most feared of Hell's hordes. What their method lacks in finesse it makes up for in success. Even King Arthur and his Knights could not resist.

Motorway Service Personnel
Some of the deadliest fighters of Hell.

Rubicante
Rubicante (AKA Ruby) is a locust-headed Fire Demon, whose best friend - if demons can be said to have friends - is Guttlehog. He can strip a cornfield in 30 seconds, but his insectoid head doesn't make for good conversation. Use a Satansoft (TM) Translator. "He looked like the product of a crazed design meeting between Johnny Morris and Aleister Crowley."
Top

Scunthytiep
Elephant Warlock of Slumbering Mu
Top

Sonylante
"The Spirit of Temporarily Mislaid Video Remote Controls."
Top

Srrggg-Dyrk
A centipede servant of the goddess of E numbers
Top

Trainee Demon Orville
"A bad likeness of a luminous green duck wearing a comically large nappy." Often mistaken for a puppet.
Top

Young Nick
Young Nick is a worthy sucessor to his father Old Nick, even if he doesn't do things in exactly the same way. He may want to redecorate Forces of Darkness plc, but that doesn't make him any less evil. His favourite tricks are to lull offending demons into a false sense of security and then call in Alastor, his chief executioner.
